Why are they making this guy eligible for parole? For such a senseless and brutal crime they should just lock him up and chuck the key away.

I've read the book and am really looking forward to seeing this movie. Cunxin had an extraordinary life, few could imagine the heights he would reach when he reached his full potential. Add to that the friction between CN and the US at the time and you've got a really compelling storyline. I think he's living in Sydney now with his wife and three kids.
